Easter Break

First down to Minnamurra for some time with Aunty Amanda and Uncle Paula. It was cool but we still had a bit of a swim in the river.

Then up to Patonga for a couple of days at the beach house with Nana K, Grandpa Peter and Aunty Lani.

Two classic quotes from the holiday

Luka playing with alphabet flash cards with Nana K and Grandpa Peter:

Luka - "P" is for boobies!
Grandpa Peter - "P" is for pair of boobies.
Luka - Good work Grandpa Peter.

Mummy and Daddy lying in bed wit Luka at bedtime. All is quiet:

Luka - You're the best, Mumma. I love you.

Awwwwwww.

A Trip to 'The House'

Last Friday we had a trip into town to see 'Jack' at the Sydney Opera House.

Afterwards we rode the ferry across to Wildlife World and hung out with some reptiles.

Choice Bro

Last week we went to New Zealand!

Luka had a ball - hanging out with Aunty Amanda, eating breakfast at a different cafe everyday, riding on trams, buses, gondolas, and punts.

He ate his first icecream in Akaroa (albeit frozen yoghurt blended with frozen berries) and even experienced brain freeze.

After 6 days playing Luka woke us up at 3am and said "It's time to get our things together." Perfect timing to catch our 6am flight.

A New Years Resolution?

To keep this up to date!

It's been quite some time hasn't it?

Luka is now 3 days shy of 2 years and 8 months. We got his passport last week in readiness for out trip to NZ.

It took so many tries to get this pic. Lucky they have relaxed the rules a little and will now accept kids photos with their mouth open.

I've been keeping my eye out for activities for the plane trip. So far I've got a couple of sticker books which I hope will keep him occupied for some time. I'm thinking that he'll enjoy looking out of the window for a little while too, although I imagine once we are entirely over water that will lose most of its attraction.

Tomorrow is Australia Day. I'm still undecided about fireworks. Luka gets upset when over the noise of the vacuum cleaner. I think he has inherited his Mummy's dislike of noise.

Well, haven't I been a slacker!

It's been quite some time since I have posted here so lots has happened.

Luka is going well, walking and nearly talking. He started walking about 2 weeks before his 1st birthday.

Here's a pic of us at the end of the day of his party at Nackara.

We've been teaching him sign language. He now knows the signs for 'more', 'hungry', 'drink', 'finished', 'berries', 'outside', and of course 'milk'.
This is a video from when he learnt his first sign.

I'll try to fill the gap in the next for weeks. BBL.

Look at me Mum ...

This is a pic of Luka with his Christmas present. It's supposed to encourage them to stand up. Well, what do you know? It works!

He's sitting up by himself much better now. Not for long, but it gets a little bit more everyday.

I'm hoping all of his caterpillar crawling around will tire him out so much he won't be able to resist a couple of daytime naps.

I can dream.

Not quite crawling, but ...

... more like a worm or a caterpillar.

Luka has been getting around like this since the start of the year. He hasn't quite worked out how to do the traditional type crawling but none-the-less, this is very effective for him.

We have all sorts of barricades up around the living room to stop him getting to things he shouldn't, mainly electrical cables, which he is drawn to like a magnet.

Chris has plans to make us a new tv cabinet which has doors on it to enclose all those buttons and knobs Luka wants so much to play with.
